David Cook Is Having The Time Of His Life

rowena on May 30th 2008

David Cook have his first singe “The Time Of My Life” out in the market. The single has reached the number 3 spot in the Billboard Hot 100. David Cook is the emerging music icon after winning the seventh season of the famed American Idol against smooth voice rival David Archuleta. He was born as David Roland Cook last December 20, 1982 and is currently 25 years of age. David is from Houston, Texas but was raised at Blue Springs, Missouri. He’s currently dating ex-Idol finalist Kimberly Caldwell.

Cook broke several Billboard chart records. Most notable was his record shattering feat of having eleven songs debut on the Hot 100 that week, beating the previous record set by Miley Cyrus in 2006 when she had six songs debut on the chart. Cook’s first single, “The Time of My Life” led the pack, debuting at #3 on the Hot 100. David Cook’s eleven charting songs also gave him the most songs by one artist on the Hot 100 of any week in the Nielsen SoundScan era (which began in 1991), and the most of any era since The Beatles placed 14 songs on the chart the week of April 11, 1964. In addition, that same week Cook also broke the record for the most debuts on Billboard’s Hot Digital Songs chart, where he placed 14 debut entries, the record of which was previously six set by Bon Jovi in 2007. Cook’s 17 entries had a combined total of 944,000 digital downloads in the first week of selling.

Billy Idol Concerts Schedules

rowena on May 26th 2008

Billy Idol  is a British hard rock singer-songwriter and musician. He was born William Michael Albert Broad on November 30, 1955.  With his spiked peroxide blonde hair, sneering visage and a voice capable of singing growling rock and roll and crooning ballads, Idol became a cultural icon during the 1980’s.

Billy Idol first achieved fame as the lead singer of the first-wave UK punk band Generation X. When that band broke up, Idol moved to New York where he met guitarist Steve Stevens. The two of them set out to make punk music “sexier”, recording a series of hit singles. A series of stylish music videos made him one of the first stars of MTV. His success has waned since the 1990s, but Idol continues to make music.
