They become popular initially with the help of the internet at campuses. They become a hit among college students because of their college life based songs. I’m talking about the American rock band called O.A.R., short for Of The Revolution. Their alternative rock, jam music is literally based on the members lives from their college period at the Ohio State University and what is it like living at Rockville, Maryland. Their singles include “Shattered” and “This Town”.

And then he was introduced by his room mate to Kanye West and it all started out. John Legend was known for his award winning songs “Used To LOve You” and “Ordinary People” which garnered various awards from prominent award winning bodies. Actually he had already received five Grammy Awards. John Legend had collaborated with various recording artists like Alicia Keys’ “You Don’t Know My Name” and Fort Minor’s “High Road.”

He was the lead singer of one of the productive British band, The Kinks, which was disbanded in the 90s. Ray Davies is now a known American rock musician, director, actor and producer at the same time. The group that he has started with his brother Dave, The Kinks, was inducted in the Rock n Roll Hall of Fame in 1990 and at the UK Music Hall of Fame in 2005. He was hailed in the music industry as one of the best songwriters of all time.

Blues Traveler has started out in a high school garage in Princeton, New Jersey during the mid 80s. The group was named The Establishment and then Blues Band and later turned on the name Blues Traveler. The original band is consists of John Popper, Brendan Hill, Chan Kinchla and Bobby Sheehan. When Sheehan died on 1999 due to a drug overdose the band adapted Tad Kinchla and Ben Wilson. The group is popular for their segue styled perfromance on their live shows but they gained more success with their fourth album entitled “Four” which was release in 1994 with the singles “Run-Around” and “Hook”. The group performs music influenced by a variety of genres, including blues rock, psychedelic rock, folk-style rock, soul, and Southern-influenced rock.

The roots of Snow Patrol started at the University of Cardiff in Cardiff, Wales. They started out with the name of Shrug to Polar Bear which then led to their present name, Snow Patrol. Their song genres includes alternative rock and indie rock. Their first three albums under independent, small records were unsuccessful but when they decided to transfer in a major label, their 4th album entitled “Final Straw” reached a 4x platinum mark in the UK. They have received various awards and their sales worldwide have reached 7 million albums.
