Emo Band Fall Out Boy Concerts and Tours

rowena on Dec 16th 2008

They are the voice behind the hit single, “This Ain’t a Scene, It’s an Arms Race”, which reach the number 2 slot on the Billboards Hot 100 on February 2007. They are one of the best known emo bands in the country. Fall Out Boy came from the suburbs of Chicago and got their name at a show they played while still nameless. A fan yelled out Fall Out Boy when they asked for suggestions and it stuck from there. Even though they emerged on the scene with an underground sound, Fall Out Boy has pop appeal and they have become a big part of the modern music scene, so much so that they headlined the 2007 Honda Civic Tour.

Britney Spears Is Back On The Limelight

rowena on Dec 15th 2008

It doesn’t matter how many times you fall, what matters most is how many times you get up when you fall. Eventhough Britney Spears’ 2007 album Blackout was her first in 4 years, she hardly spent her time off out of the spotlight. In fact, for awhile it seemed like Ms. Spears had dropped the mantle of famous pop idol and decided to be an infamous has-been instead. Though Blackout went platinum its performance was still disappointing as it sold only a third of the copies of 2003’s In the Zone. Critics claimed that Spears’ career was over. However, Britney clearly isn’t one to quit and slink away – her latest album, 2008’s Circus, has already spawned the #1 hit single “Womanizer” and Britney is gearing up for a tour to support the album in 2009 named ‘The Circus Starring: Britney Spears’. Though she may have gone through a lot in the past 5 years, she hasn’t lost her sense of humor! Britney is back to top form and fans can’t wait to see her live.

Jimmy Eat World Tours 2009

rowena on Dec 11th 2008

Jimmy Eat World is an emo and alternative rock band formed in 1993 in Arizona. They quickly developed a following performing in underground and indie venues. Finally, the band released a series of indie albums before their major release, Static Prevails.

In the midst of mid-’90s grunge, four childhood friends formed a band that would eventually impact modern rock of the new millennium. Jimmy Eat World formed in 1994 with kindergarten pals Jim Adkins (vocals/guitar) and Zach Lind (drums), Tom Linton (guitar/vocals), and Mitch Porter (bass). The foursome derived the band’s moniker from Linton’s younger brothers, Ed and Jimmy. The two had a fight one day and Ed resorted to drawing a picture of his cherubic older brother eating the world with ‘Jimmy Eat World’ printed beneath. The band thought it was a perfect fit. Soon, they tinkered around with heavy punk rock sounds, playing small shows around their native Mesa, AZ. Influences ranged from Rocket From the Crypt, early Def Leppard, the Jesus and Mary Chain, Fugazi, and the Velvet Underground, leaving Jimmy Eat World as a work in progress.

Up to Date Mötley Crüe Concerts Schedules

rowena on Dec 10th 2008

Mötley Crüe is back and better than ever with their new album, 2008’s Saints of Los Angeles, and a new tour to support it in 2009 which also features Hinder, Theory of a Deadman and the Last Vegas.

Their concerts had earn negative and positive reviews from critics. This is what Steven Mirkin of Variety said about the band’s performance at the Hollywood Palladium,

“You don’t go to a Motley Crue show looking for depth. There’s very little subtext to the Los Angeles quartet; when Vince Neil sings “Shout at the Devil,” the song is literally about shouting at the devil, and “Wild Life” is a list of decadent activities. With music that cribs from the songbooks of Kiss and Slade, Motley Crue can be seen as Cliffs Notes for something that was never all that complex to begin with.”

One Of The Famous Guitarists Of All Time - Jeff Beck

rowena on Dec 8th 2008

He was noted as the 14th Greatest Guitarist of All Time by the Rolling Stone Magazine. He is also one of the three famous guitarists of the group The Yardbirds including Eric Clapton and Jimmy Page. I am proud to be a fan of Jeff Beck and eagerly waiting for his election in the 2009 Rock amd Roll Hall Of Fame. Though he haven’t achieved the popularity of most of his colleagues, he had garnered four Grammy Awards for Best Rock Instrumental Performance and 2 hit albums as a solo act. While Beck was not the first rock guitarist to experiment with electronic distortion, he nonetheless helped to redefine the sound and role of the electric guitar in rock music. Beck’s work with The Yardbirds and The Jeff Beck Group’s 1968 album Truth were seminal influences on heavy metal music, which emerged in full force in the early 1970s. Jeff Beck is still highly influential with many modern guitarists, who cite him as a major influence on their playing.
