Hot Group Nine Inch Nails In Concert

rowena on Mar 30th 2009

Nine Inch Nails is considered a hot group, though Trent Reznor has been the only permanent member. The introduction of Reznor to the music world was a turning point for industrial music, making it easier to listen to and understand. Trent is not only a singer - he also plays numerous instruments and has taken on the role of producer. As Nirvana hit the music scene in the 1990s, NIN established a large new fanbase with alternative rockers, and Reznor became a sex symbol.

Trent Reznor was born in Pennsylvania in 1965 and raised mainly by his grandparents, as his parents were divorced when he was only five. At school he was diverse in his talents as he learned to play the piano, tenor sax and tuba, as well as performing in school musicals. He eventually became a die-hard Kiss fan and decided to pursue music and computers at Allegheny College. After a year’s time he wanted to pursue music on a full time basis and moved to Ohio with his friend Chris Vrenna. He became interested in underground as well as industrial music, and at nineteen he joined a band called Innocent, which released Livin’ In the Streets. He then began working at a keyboard store and at the Right Track Studio as a janitor. He later became the studio engineer and worked with different computer applications to work on his own music while he wasn’t on the clock.

Coldplay Concerts Schedules For New Album!

rowena on Mar 27th 2009

Hey Coldplay fans out there, Coldplay is finally releasing an album and going on a world tour! 2008’s Viva La Vida or Death And All His Friends is their first full-length album since 2005’s platinum-selling X&Y, and fans are clamoring to see it performed live. The Viva La Vida World Tour starts this summer!

The foursome of Coldplay met at University College London in 1996, and began playing music together informally soon after. Chris Martin (vocals/guitar/piano), Guy Berryman (bass), Jonny Buckland (lead guitar), and Will Champion (drums) seem to have gotten together as something of a lark - Champion couldn’t even play drums when the band first formed. Never aiming for rock stardom, the band members, all from working-class roots, have worked hard to maintain their independence and idealism, and to bring political issues like the environment, world hunger and fair-trade to the forefront of pop music.

Jonas Brother World Tour Schedules!

rowena on Mar 25th 2009

Its really amazing if brothers work together to have a name for themselves. New Jersey siblings Joseph, Kevin, and Nicholas Jonas craft hook-filled power pop anthems in the vein of the Ramones, Hanson, and the Modern Lovers. The young East Coast natives — in 2006 the trio topped out at 16, 17, and 13, respectively — were reared in the city of Wyckoff under the tutelage of musician parents. The group formed initially around the soulful voice of Nicholas, who had wowed enough executives at Daylight/Columbia Records to warrant a solo album, but when the brothers began writing and performing new songs together, it became apparent to both band and label that something special was happening. Their full-length debut, It’s About Time, was released in August 2006, followed by the eponymous Jonas Brothers in 2007.

The Jonas Brothers, Kevin, Joe and Nick, may be young (at 19 Kevin is the eldest) but their pop punk Christian rock has struck a chord with fans young and old alike. Their first album, 2006’s It’s About Time, spawned the TRL hit “Mandy” and now they’re touring to promote their latest release, 2007’s Jonas Brothers. They also have guest appearances on Disney’s Hannah Montana and High School Musical 2 and starring roles in the upcoming Disney series J.O.N.A.S!

U2 Concerts Rocks! Don’t Miss It!

rowena on Mar 23rd 2009

Irish rockers U2 have been one of the world’s biggest bands for many years. Singer Bono’s distinctive vocals and guitarist The Edge’s classic sound have led to enormous hits such as With or Without You, Elevation, Sunday Bloody Sunday and The Sweetest Thing.

Having played to packed auditoriums for many years, the band has honed their live show, which is an experience not to be missed.

Through a combination of zealous righteousness and post-punk experimentalism, U2 became one of the most popular rock & roll bands of the ’80s. Equally known for their sweeping sound as for their grandiose statements about politics and religion, they were rock & roll crusaders during an era of synthesized pop and heavy metal.

Don’t Miss The Def Leppard Concerts Schedules

rowena on Mar 10th 2009

They were the definitive hard rock band of the ’80s. Def Leppard was easily one of the most popular rock bands of the 1980s, and they’re still cranking out hits, most recently off their 2006 album Yeah!. Their loyal fans made their 2007 tour a hit, but if you weren’t able to catch them last year, don’t worry – their 2008 world tour, featuring Styx and REO Speedwagon, kicks off on March 27th.

Def Leppard formed in 1977 as a high school cover band. The original name was properly spelled, and the original lineup included singer Joe Elliot, bassist Rick “Sav” Savage, guitarist Pete Willis, and drummer Tony Kenning. At this time, the band’s only gig was playing David Bowie and Thin Lizzy covers for friends.

The Famous Van Morrison In Concert!

rowena on Mar 9th 2009

He was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1993 and the Songwriters Hall of Fame in 2003. In 2000, Morrison ranked number twenty-fifth on American cable music channel VH1’s list of its “100 Greatest Artists of Rock and Roll”, and in 2004, Rolling Stone magazine ranked him forty-second on their list of “Greatest Artists of All Time”.

Guess who is this very prominent musician? Its non other than Van Morrison himself! George Ivan Morrison was born in Belfast, Ireland on August 31st, 1945. With a mother who was a singer and a father who collected classic blues and American jazz, George had been surrounded by music since birth. At the age of 15 he quit school to join a local R&B group and began touring the military bases throughout Europe. He eventually returned home to start up his own band, ‘Them’, which released their debut single ‘Don’t Start Crying Now’ in 1964, earning the group a devout local following. Morrison left ‘Them’ following a 1966 U.S. tour due to constant line up changes, and decided to quit the music business.

Morrison, in 1978, took to the stage for the first time in nearly five years in support of his new release ‘Wavelength’. A year later ‘Into the Music’ was cut with ‘Inarticulate Speech of the Heart’, ‘A Sense of Wonder’, and ‘No Guru, No Method, No Teacher’ all to follow. Morrison teamed up with the Chieftains in 1988 to release an album of traditional folk songs. It wasn’t until 1993 Morrison experienced a commercial rebirth of sorts when Rod Stewart covered ‘Have I Told You Lately That I Love You’ from the 1989 album, ‘Avalon Sunset’.

One Of The Original Bands Of the 80s - Los Lobos Concerts

rowena on Mar 6th 2009

They made the hit La Bamba, and made a distinct imprint on the world of rock. There are so many intellectual reasons to champion Los Lobos, such as their American Dream-like rise from the “other” side of the Los Angeles River to international stardom, or their nearly seamless stylistic embrace of blues, rockabilly, R&B, country, heartland rock, jazz, folk, Tex-Mex, norteno and Mexican traditionals, their success at delivering without compromise the music of their Mexican-American heritage to a wider audience, and their uncommon ability to bring people of various cultures together through their music. But more than anything else, Los Lobos are just a great rock band.

Los Lobos was one of America’s most distinctive and original bands of the ’80s. They may have had a hit with “La Bamba” in 1987, yet that cover barely scratches the surface of their talents. Los Lobos is eclectic in the best sense of the word. While they draw equally from rock, Tex-Mex, country, folk, R&B, blues, and traditional Spanish and Mexican music, their music never sounds forced or self-conscious. Instead, all of their influences become one graceful, gritty sound. From their very first recordings their rich musicality was apparent; on nearly every subsequent record they have found ways to redefine and expand their sound, without ever straying from the musical traditions that form the heart and soul of the band.

Hard Rock Outfit Blackfoot Resurrected

rowena on Mar 4th 2009

They were formed in 1972 and were contemporaries of Lynyrd Skynyrd, and tried for years to make it as a Southern rock band, although they were more popular as a hard rock outfit. I’m talking about Blackfoot, a Southern rock band from Jacksonville, Florida.  Blackfoot original members include Rickey Medlocke, Jakson Spires, Ken Hensley, Christoph Ullmann and Jerry James. They had a number of hit albums in the 1970s and early 1980s (including Strikes (1979), Tomcattin’ (1980), and Marauder (1981)) before their popularity started to wane. They had broken up by 1984, though not before former Uriah Heep keyboardist/songwriter Ken Hensley had joined the group during their last couple of years together.

The band was resurface on 2004 with 3 of the founding members. But when Spires dies the members of Blackfoot is consists of Bobby Barth, Greg T. Walker, Charlie Hargrett and Michael Sollars.

Swing Band Big Bad Voodoo Daddy Concerts Schedules

rowena on Mar 3rd 2009

The band Big Bad Voodoo Daddy helped to bring about a swing/jazz revival in the 1990s. Drawing on musicians like The Rat Pack and Duke Ellington, Big Bad Voodoo Daddy revived the big band sound of the 1940s and 1950s. They even wear the notorious zoot suits to accompany their music. Their swing music has been met with great acceptance as their concerts have sold out tickets all over the United States, Asia, Australia, and Europe.

In 1989, Big Bad Voodoo Daddy was put together by guitarist Scotty Morris in Ventura, California. Originally, he formed a jazz, swing, and blues trio. This trio included drummer Kurt Sodergren. Scotty named the band after a meeting with one of his idols, Albert Collins. Scotty heard his favorite guitarist, Albert Collins, playing in a club one night, and after the show, he asked Collins for an autograph. Collins signed it ‘To Scotty, the Big Bad Voodoo Daddy.’ Scotty liked the name so much, he named his band after it.
