He’s proven he can sing anything from Lionel Richie’s ‘Hello’ to ‘The Music of the Night’ from Phantom of the Opera even he’s an all out rocker. David Cook had definitely amazed everyone. The Blue Springs, Missouri native has been making music since he got his first guitar at 2 years old, and he was good enough to earn a scholarship to the University of Central Missouri in theater. David isn’t just a talented performer – he’s also a super sweet guy, which he proved when he started wearing an orange wristband in the Top 12 week to support a 7-year-old fan with leukemia. David Cook has been a fan favorite since day one of the 7th season of American Idol.

rowena on May 30th 2008

David Cook have his first singe “The Time Of My Life” out in the market. The single has reached the number 3 spot in the Billboard Hot 100. David Cook is the emerging music icon after winning the seventh season of the famed American Idol against smooth voice rival David Archuleta. He was born as David Roland Cook last December 20, 1982 and is currently 25 years of age. David is from Houston, Texas but was raised at Blue Springs, Missouri. He’s currently dating ex-Idol finalist Kimberly Caldwell.

Cook broke several Billboard chart records. Most notable was his record shattering feat of having eleven songs debut on the Hot 100 that week, beating the previous record set by Miley Cyrus in 2006 when she had six songs debut on the chart. Cook’s first single, “The Time of My Life” led the pack, debuting at #3 on the Hot 100. David Cook’s eleven charting songs also gave him the most songs by one artist on the Hot 100 of any week in the Nielsen SoundScan era (which began in 1991), and the most of any era since The Beatles placed 14 songs on the chart the week of April 11, 1964. In addition, that same week Cook also broke the record for the most debuts on Billboard’s Hot Digital Songs chart, where he placed 14 debut entries, the record of which was previously six set by Bon Jovi in 2007. Cook’s 17 entries had a combined total of 944,000 digital downloads in the first week of selling.
