James Taylor’s Undying Music

James Taylor is an American award winning and legendary singer-songwriter and guitarist. He was born in Boston, Massachusetts on born March 12, 1948 and raised in Chapel Hill, North Carolina. James Taylor’s career began in the mid-1960s, but he found his audience in the early 1970s, singing sensitive and gentle acoustic songs. He was a contemporary of singer-songwriters such as Joni Mitchell, Tom Rush, Cat Stevens, Carole King, John Denver, Jim Croce, Don McLean, and Jackson Browne, as well as Carly Simon, whom Taylor later married.

James Taylor’s 1976 album entitles Greatest Hits was certified diamond and has sold more than 11 million copies. His other albums were certified best sellers as well. His most known hit was “You’ve Got A Friend” reaching the no. 1 slot in the Billboard Hot 100 in the year 1971.
