One of the best rappers of the decade, his track Lollipop from the album Carter III is a certified hit. I’m talking about Lil Wayne. Carter III is a very succesful album reaching a million sales on its first week and a month after its release it was certified 2 times platinum. The track Lollipop, reached the number one rank and stayed there for weeks. Lil Wayne was born as Dwayne Michael Carter, Jr. at New Orleans Louisina and his been active on the music since 1999 when he was only 16 years old. He had already release 7 albums since then. Lil Wayne is one of the most succeful rapper artist today.

Dwayne Michael Carter, Jr. or most famously known as Lil Wayne, is an American rapper. He met the Cash Money Records manager as a teenager and eventually recorded for the label. He was a member of the rap group, Hot Boys. Today he is one of the best-selling rappers in the world, which has brought him praise as well as disdain.

Wayne’s first solo album “Tha Block Is Hot” includes significant contributions from the Hot Boys and went double platinum, climbing to #3 on the Billboard album charts.The album earned Wayne a 1999 Source magazine award nomination for “Best New Artist”, and also became a Top Ten hit. After the release of “Tha Block is Hot”, Wayne was featured on the single, “Bling Bling”, with B.G., Juvenile, Turk, and Big Tymers.

His latest album, “Tha Carter III” was released on June 10, 2008.. The first single “Lollipop” quickly became the rapper’s most commercially successful song to date, topping the Billboard Hot 100 and making it the first Top 10 single for Wayne as a solo artist, as well as his first #1 hit.
